Contact Lens Solutions for Air Optix for Astigmatism

With so many contact lens cleaning and multi-purpose solutions on the market, it is difficult to find the right one. We have looked at some of the popular solutions. These lens solutions have been tested on patients wearing Air Optix for Astigmatism contact lenses.

The test - conducted by the Staining Grid Center - is measuring the level of staining (an indicator of lens bio compatibility) 2 hours after insertion. For more information about the test procedure check out staininggrid.com.  We are sure, there are other excellent products on the market but we decided to pick the top branded solutions for Air Optix for Astigmatism based on Gary Andrasko's staininggrid site. So, how did we pick them? They are all in the green zone and are showing less than 10% of staining.

I had used Opti-Free Express, Opti-Free Replenish and Aquify for about two years before my new eye doctor gave me a trial package of Clear Care. I used it and haven't used anything else since then. You have to follow the directions though and be careful not to get it in your eyes unless it's been in the special case for at least 6 hours. Clear Care uses hydrogen peroxide and a special case with a metal disk in it which creates bubbles that help remove the protein deposits and dirt from the lenses. My lenses felt cleaner, clearer and moister after soaking in Clear Care and I was able to wear them longer during the day even with my dry eyes. I highly recommend it.
