ACUVUE OASYS versus ACUVUE OASYS with TransitionsWhile most of the parameters and specifications of these two lenses are very similar or identical, ACUVUE OASYS® with Transitions® offers the world's first auto-darkening capability, absorbing visible light dynamically based on changing light conditions. This is achieved by adding a photochromic additive to the lens material. ACUVUE OASYS® was introduced more than a decade ago while ACUVUE OASYS® with Transitions® is the latest lens added to the ACUVUE OASYS® family. It will be available in the first half of 2019. Johnson & Johnson Vision Care is the first company to offer a photochromic contact lens.
