Purevision Toric versus SofLens for Astigmatism - Comparison

PureVision Toric and SofLens for Astigmatism are disposable soft contact lenses manufactured by Bausch & Lomb. Both lenses were introduced in 2005 and while SofLens Toric is a bi-weekly replaceable lens, PureVision Toric must be tossed after 30 days. SofLens is much thicker than PureVision and its water content is 66% compared to 36% for the PureVision. This - as well as the base material - explains PureVision's much higher oxygen transmission value. Of course, your eye doctor will figure out what's right for you but oxygen transmission and water content play an important role.
The price range for SofLens for Astigmatism is slightly higher and not a surprise as the cost of bi-weekly replaceable lenses is, in general, higher than the cost of monthly lenses.
