HydraMax is an internal wetting agent technology developed by Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Inc. and available in the ACUVUE® VITA® product family. It is a non-coated silicone hydrogel formulation with a network of hydrated, lipophilic silicones and embedded long chains of pure polyvinylpyrrolidone (known as PVP).

Natural tear lipids are integrated into the lens for improved lubricity and to maximize and maintain hydration through the lens. The maximum amount of the PVP hydrating agent is being integrated throughout the entire lens, providing comfort from the first day of the month. It also integrates with the eye's natural and beneficial lipids to reduce evaporation and maintain hydration providing lasting comfort throughout the month.

According to Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Inc., patient ratings for lenses with HydraMax technology were superior for overall comfort at week 1, week 2, week 3 and week 4 compared to other lenses.
