SofBlue® is a trademarked term owned by CooperVision and used to describe contact lenses that are slightly tinted with a light-blue color (Phthalocyanine Blue). The tinting allows patients to see a contact lents in its foil-covered plastic box or in an overnight storage case filled with cleaning solution.

It is important to note that a tinted lens does not change the natural color of your eyes - it simply supports patients in the handling of their lenses. Most manufacturers produce contact lenses with a handling tint to offer the same type of support.

The word SofBlue® was originally filed in 1990 with the US States and Trademark Office by Allergan Inc. and is now owned by CooperVision. It has been renewed several times.
