MoistureSeal is a proprietary hydration technology that was developed by Bausch and Lomb and currently can be found within the Bausch and Lomb ULTRA product family.

It is based on a unique two-phase manufacturing process. The first process creates a water-soluble silicone matrix combining long-chain and short-chain molecules. In the second step, polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) - a popular wetting agent used in contact lenses and wetting solutions - is grown into rather than wrapped around this matrix. As a result, these special water-loving molecules, integrated into the lens material, promise to maintain 95% of the lens moisture for a full 16 hours.

As per Bausch and Lomb's announcement in May 2018, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the ULTRA product family of contact lenses for extended wear of up to six nights and seven days of continuous wear.
