Kalifilcon A is a new silicon hydrogel contact lens material developed by Bausch+Lomb. Introduced in 2020, Kalifilcon A is used as a base material in Bausch's new BAUSCH + LOMB INFUSE daily disposable contact lens. According to Bausch Health, Kalifilcon A addresses the special needs of patients with dry eye complications looking for an all-day contact lens that combines best-in-class comfort and vision. Kalifilcon A is made of a hydrophilic siloxane copolymer of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate and N-vinyl pyrrolidone.

Contact lenses with Kalifilcon A are indicated for the daily wear correction of myopia and hyperopia (short- and long-sightedness) in patients with non-diseased eyes and a non-interfering refractive astigmatism of 2.00 diopters or less. A toric version of Kalifilcon A contact lenses is indicated for the daily wear correction of astigmatism of up to 5.00 diopters.

It is important to note that the lens is to be prescribed for single-use disposable wear and is to be discarded after each removal.
