WetLoc™ is a proprietary hydration technology that was developed and trademarked by CooperVision and currently can be found within the entire clariti product family.
In more detail: WetLoc™ is a non-surface treatment technology that changes the structure of the silicone molecules (which by nature are rather hydrophobic) so they become more water-loving. As a result, the lens surface attracts and binds more water molecules. Or in other words: This technology enables the entire contact lens to stay continuously hydrated and spreads moisture throughout the lens with the goal to mimic the moisture distribution of naturally healthy eyes.
WetLoc™ was introduced in 2009 with the rollout of the first clariti product: Clariti 1 day. It is now available with the following CooperVision lenses:
